Jessica is a part-time daycare worker with three children on PeachCare, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) in Georgia. All three of her children—five-year-old Timothy, two-year-old Reanne and stepdaughter, Lexi—receive excellent care through the program.

When Timothy started to have breathing problems and was unable to keep up with the other kids in sports, Jessica took him to the doctor. PeachCare covered the cost of the doctor to diagnose Timothy with asthma, and continues to pay for medication to control his breathing. Timothy is now an active kid again, busy hitting balls and running the bases on his neighborhood tee-ball team.

Like many young children, Jessica’s daughter Reanne had a recurring case of ear infections. Reanne received prompt care from her doctor and now has less extreme, and less frequent, ear aches. And last December, Jessica and her husband, a truck driver, discovered that Lexi was suffering from diabetes. PeachCare provided the way during this scary time to immediately diagnose and start controlling Lexi’s diabetes. With medications and doctor visits, her diabetes continues to be under control.
