    Beatrice Jensen

    Salt Lake City, Utah

    Beatrice Jensen, a mother of five, speaks about her husband's bout with ALS, "Lou Gehrig's disease." She explains that the disease spread rapidly, forcing her husband to quit his job. Luckily, she was able to enroll her children in the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to ensure that they had health coverage.

    Duran Caferro

    Helena, Montana

    Duran was uninsured until he was able to get coverage through Montana CHIP. But that didn't stop him from working toward his dream of being in the 2008 Summer Olympics.

    Marci Ruff

    Knoxville, Iowa

    Marci Ruff tells the story of how her daughter, Jensi, was born with a few eye conditions and eventually developed poor eyesight in elementary school. Uninsured at the time, Marci was unable to afford to take Jensi to the doctor until she was able to enroll her in the hawk-i program.
