Let's Get America Covered!

Forty-seven million Americans, including more than 9 million children, are living without health care coverage. Each year, more and more hard-working families join the ranks of the uninsured. The time for change is now and you can help.

Report: Kids with Health Insurance Get Needed Care, While Uninsured Kids Go Without

A report released today on children’s health shows that having health insurance makes an enormous difference in whether kids receive the care they need, especially if they are chronically ill. The study, released today by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and conducted by researchers at the University of Minnesota, shows that insured children are three times more likely to visit a doctor’s office in the course of a year than are uninsured children. Insured kids are also far more likely to have had a regular check-up to keep them healthy.

In addition to showing that children with insurance receive important health care services, the report takes a deeper look at kids with chronic health conditions, such as asthma or diabetes.

In Remembrance: Bernie Mac

Good Kids

Cover the Uninsured is proud to have partnered with the late Bernie Mac on efforts to connect uninsured kids with health coverage. A tireless advocate for America’s uninsured kids, Mr. Mac donated his time and talent to create a Covering Kids & Families public service announcement to reach uninsured families. Our condolences go out to his family, friends and devoted fans. To view Mr. Mac’s public service announcement, click here.
